The information below is from Brad Korn, a MAPS coach and Mega Agent, in his Family Reunion presentation on MyContacts in eEdge. I think his advice and reasons for manually adding your contacts to eEdge makes sense, especially since we know that each added contact will receive the welcome email. I suggest you give the folks a call, explain the email they will receive and confirm their information. And as he points out, the MREA model is to feed our database daily. Our BOLD group will confirm how valuable it can be to touch your sphere and past clients, asking for referrals.
Success to you today!
I made a suggestion at Family Reunion that you might want to consider moving your database 5-10 contacts a day from your old database to your new eEdge account.
Several Reasons Why:
1) gives you opportunity to call each person as you move them over
2) gives you opportunity to learn how to add contacts and how to manage their notes, action plans etc... before you get rid of your old database
3) gives you opportunity to clean up your database. Are people still married? Do you have all their contact info, or are you missing phone number, email or mailing address
4) honestly, to get you into the MREA habits of feeding your database EVERY day! It obviously won't be fun to run 2 databases, so the more you focus on calling everyone in your current database and manually moving them over to your eEdge account will give you the opportunity to capture way more business than if you just export and import in one lump sum.
5) if you wait for notes to be exportable...how much business could you miss out on between now and then if you are calling 5 of your database contacts every day?
6) make sure you have people on the right drip campaigns
7) Using eEdge every day will help you learn how to use it more efficiently
Just a few good reasons why the "5 a day" plan may be better for you than just exporting and importing everything into a new system.
